Placing an advert on this board takes a few minutes and costs nothing. There is no account to create, no profile to fill in, and no payment screen at the end. The site is a täiskasvanute portaal in the Estonian sense of the phrase, a board where adults post and answer adverts, and the form is built for one advert at a time.
Pick the shelf before anything else
The advert goes onto one of the categories, and the category decides who reads it. An advert from a man looking for a woman belongs on mees otsib naist, and the same advert filed under a different label reaches people who were not looking for it. If what you are offering is a service, the shelf for massage and erotica is the right one.
What the form asks for
A name, an age, a place and the text of the advert. The adult categories ask for an age between 18 and 120, and everyone using the board is 18 or over. A contact detail is required, either an e-mail address or a phone number, because an advert nobody can answer has no purpose on a board like this one. A photograph can be added, and it can be left out.
Text offering medicine, supplements or vitamins will be refused. So will an advert that arrives without a way to reply.
The confirmation step
Nothing appears on the board straight away. Once the form is submitted, the site sends a confirmation link to the e-mail address that was given, and the advert is published when that link is followed. The step keeps an e-mail address that does not work from ending up on the board, and it means a live advert belongs to someone who reads their mail.
Writing the text
The list shows the opening of the advert, so the useful facts go first. Give your age and your town, say what you are looking for, and add anything that narrows the replies: whether you can travel, when you are usually free, what you would rather not be asked. A reader who has to open the advert to find out where you are will often scroll past it.
Keep the tone level. A short text that states the facts reads as a person with something specific in mind. A long one that describes an ideal evening reads like every other advert on the page. Two or three sentences are enough for the first advert, and the replies will tell you whether anything needs changing.
What to leave out
Leave out your workplace, your street, your full name if you would rather not publish it, and anyone else’s details. Use a contact address you are happy to keep after the ten days are up. Do not post a photograph that belongs to another person, and do not post one you would object to seeing on another site next year.
Promises are the other thing to keep out. What you write is what the reply is based on, and a mismatch turns up at the first meeting.
After it goes live
The advert stays up for ten days and is then deleted automatically. It can be taken down earlier by writing to [email protected] from the address that posted it. Check the replies for the first day or two, since that is when most of them arrive, and let the ones that do not fit go without an argument. When you have found what you were looking for, take the advert down.
